The focus of this weekend will be the Trinley Nyingpo Practice and Tsok. The weekend teachings and practices will be led by Lama Gerry Prindiville. Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche has asked Lama Gerry to teach and lead retreats at Gomde. Gerry completed a three year retreat in Nepal in 2007, and since then, has been teaching in Kathmandu and also at Gomde.

This retreat is only open to people who have received a Padmasambhava empowerment from any of the Tibetan Buddhist Lineages. If you attended the Ngakso Puja this summer with Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche you received the empowerment.

The January weekend begins Friday evening at 6:00 pm with a light supper followed by an evening explanation of the practice. Saturday will include four group practice and explanation sessions: 7-8:30 am, 9:30-11:30 am, 3-5 pm, and 7-9 pm. There will be meals provided during the breaks. Participants are also free to do volunteer work during the afternoon break, Gomde welcomes your help! Sunday there will be a group practice with tsok that is tentatively set to begin at 8 am. Everyone is welcome to bring offerings for the Tsok. (flowers, fruit, cheeses, Brunch goodies, white wine or champagne, etc.) The retreat ends after lunch.

Suggested fees are $50 for the weekend, which includes meals. For those who would like to lodge on the land there is a small fee to either have a room or to stay in the Buddha Hall. Stonegate Villa is also available for lodging and they can be contacted at 707-925-6226.

This weekend is a good preparation for the February Losar Anniversary weekend when we will do Tsoks every day of the weekend.

If you would like to join us, please email Hilda Goldman <hrgold at comcast.net> or call 510-508-3429, so we can plan meals and lodging.

Please bring the following texts if you have them:
Trinley Nyingpo Practice Book
Rangjung Yeshe Chant Book
General Chants for the Chokling Tersar (yellow book)
Additional Chants for the Chokling Tersar (green book)
Treasury of Blessings (Buddha Shakyamuni Practice)
Concise Daily Practice

For this monthly retreat Gomde needs a few volunteers to help with the weekend. Two kitchen helpers are needed, one to set out the Friday night supper and Saturday breakfast and one to supervise the cleanups during the weekend. We will need a Shrine Room Yogi to help with Shrine set up and Tsok preparation. There are detailed job descriptions of this service and Lamas Gerry and Claude are available to help.
If you are interested in offering your service, please contact Ani Marcia <programs at gomdeusa.org>

We are looking forward to seeing you!

Phakchok Rinpoche will be teaching in the Bay Area later in January. When dates are confirmed, info will be on gomdeusa.org
