I'm too busy to post my center's activities on BayVajra.info. Can
you do it for me?
Sorry, I'm too busy also. I'm managing 6 websites, including this one. (Others
are on the BayVajra.info links list.)
I don't want to bother getting a writer account. Can you post my
event for me?
Getting an account is easy. You just have to fill in your name, email address,
etc. The form will create a user ID for you, called a handle. Email me your
handle, and the other information I ask for. Please see the How To on Request a
Writer Account.
I'm a computer illiterate. Here's the information about our event.
Can you post it for me?
If you can receive my emails, send me emails announcing your events, and send
me photos in your emails, you are not a computer illiterate. If you can type
text into an email editor, you can type text into a blog editor.
Why won't you post my event for me?
There are a lot of people who have asked me to do their listings for them. I
don't see that as my role. I provide the space, promote it, and give you advice
and support. Doing that is already a bigger job than I thought it would be.
With dozens of local dharma groups plus visiting lamas plus other events of
interest, it would be a full-time job to post everyone's events. And if I post
yours, someone sees that, they ask me to post theirs ...
It's impossible for me to post all the dharma events in the Bay Area. I would prefer coaching you in how to use the site, rather than posting your listings for you. Then you can be self-sufficient. It's really pretty easy. I'm inviting you and others to share in creating something we all can use.
I sponsor events with a number of different lamas. They are not all
connected with each other. How do I list those activities?
It doesn't matter whether your events are all with one lama or not. You can use
your account to list all your events.
Why are some tags in bigger letters?
Tags that are associated with more entries display larger.
Why didn't my event show up on the site after I posted
it?
You never set your user preferences, and left everything on the default
settings. The default setting for Entry status is
pending. Pending is for an entry that you want to save, but
aren't ready to publish. If you leave the Entry status as pending, your entry
won't be published. Change the entry status to published to publish your entry.
Set your user preferences, change the default entry status to published. Read
the Help page Set Your User Preferences, also the Help page
Using the Blog Editor.
Why did you change my listing?
Because you did not follow the guidelines. Probably you did one or more of
these:
Title too long. No excerpt. Boldface, all-capitals, colored text, exclamation
marks.
Anything that makes your listing take up more space on the homepage than other
people's listings.
Anything designed to grab people's attention.
Please read the guidelines for posting listings. Thank you.
